Chaotic class-based shooter The Finals is back for its seventh season with a new trailer showing off some of its latest wild gadgets.
Featuring at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, The Finals Season 7 offers plenty more of the fast-paced, cash-based action that’s helped set the game apart since it burst onto the scene in 2023. The new trailer starts with a chaotic scream and a high-rise plunge through falling masonry, and it never really slows down from there.
Accompanied by voiceover from its long-suffering commentators, the new trailer makes much of The Finals’ existence as a peculiar form of futuristic arena sport. But it’s not all about the spectacle – there’s also snapshots of the new content on its way in the new season, for those quick enough to grab a glance.
New melee weapons, a healing gun, and some kind of breaching charge all show up in an alarmingly short space of time. Add a whole suite of new cosmetics to the pile, and it’s clear that The Finals’ reputation for hosting style alongside substance isn’t likely to suffer during Season 7. In a slightly peculiar moment, there’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reference to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but I’d suggest that the spears and bows that feature after that mean we’re not getting a particularly COD-style season anywhere else.
