Tales Publisher Bandai Namco Will Reveal a New RPG This Week

Published on:

Bandai Namco has dropped a curious teaser on X (formerly Twitter) announcing that it’ll be revealing “a new RPG” later this week on March 5, at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BT. The post is also accompanied with a short video that includes an T for Teen ESRB rating, a shot of a forest with a tower in the distance that reaches into the sky, followed by a character walking with a sword and shield on their back.

At that point, the teaser cuts, showing gold text that reads “New RPG reveal” with the March 5th date and timestamp for the announcement. There is practically no indication as to what this will be, but eagle-eyed players already have their guesses, with the top suggestion being that the studio will reveal a new game in the Tales franchise.

What we see of the character in the teaser and the animation style certainly support it being a new Tales game, along with the fact that the series is still in the midst of celebrating its 30th anniversary, which it officially hit in December 2025.

The series’ most recent release also arrived just last week, a remaster of Tales of Berseria. Bandai is on a mission to remaster the Tales games, but with Thursday’s announcement poised as something “new,” then this could likely be the first brand-new entry in the series since 2021’s Tales of Arise.

Speaking of those remasters, Wccftech’s Francesco De Meo had a few things to say about the recent Berseria remaster following its reveal in November 2025. Hopefully the announcement coming later this week gives him more to be excited about in terms of the Tales series.

Or, this could just be something entirely new, and Bandai Namco is wondering why everyone is expecting a new Tales announcement that’s not coming. We’ll see what Thursday holds.
