Snake Eater New Opening Cinematic Showcases New Rendition Of Snake Eater Theme

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the highly anticipated remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is due to release on August 28, 2025, and it looks like Konami is starting to try and ramp up excitement for the upcoming release, first by debuting the new opening cinematic for this new version of Snake Eater.

Complete with a new recording of Cynthia Harrell singing the opening theme song, just as she did for the original game back in 2004. The opening cinematic has also been entirely re-done by designer Kyle Cooper, who’s known specifically for his work on opening title sequences for a litany of movies and TV shows throughout his career.

The cinematic showcases key characters and moments from the story of Metal Gear Solid 3, all while Harrell shows that her voice has not lost a step since she first recorded the Snake Eater opening 20 years ago.

It’s apparent that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a huge visual improvement over the original game, but it’s the gameplay changes that players keen to check out this new version are looking forward to the most.

Konami has already struck the right chords with a remake in its other major series with how well Silent Hill 2 Remake did, and it is no doubt hoping that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a repeat of that success, if not an improvement considering how popular the Metal Gear Solid series is.

Just like how Silent Hill 2 is the game in that series that fans covet the most, the argument can be made that Metal Gear Solid 3 is the one game out of the series that fans of MGS rate the highest. The stakes for how this remake turns out couldn’t be higher, in many ways. Hopefully it’s able to live up to expectations, and hopefully we’ll soon see more of the game ahead of its August launch.
