Samsung will make your phone look old tomorrow and could reveal surprise Galaxy

Samsung has been heavily teasing its next Unpacked launch event, and the day is nearly upon us. Tomorrow, the firm is expected to unveil at least two new Galaxy smartphones, likely to be called the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, and they could make your current phone feel pretty outdated, if recent leaks are to be believed.

That could well apply whether the phone in your pocket is a regular phone or a folding phone, iPhone or Android, as these two foldables look set to update their spec sheets from last year’s Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 significantly.

If rumours are to be believed, the Z Fold 7 will slim down its dimensions noticeably to catch up with the thinner Honor Magic V5 and other book-style foldables that have made Samsung’s efforts look comparatively chunky.

Full leaks of a Z Fold 7 have emerged over on X, showing a phone said to be much thinner this year:

This has been backed up by new information from serial smartphone leaker Roland Quandt, who posted what he said are official Samsung promotional materials ahead of tomorrow’s Unpacked launch. He also stated the Z Fold 7 will be just 4.2mm thick, slimmed down on the Z Fold 6’s 5.6mm dimensions.

In the race to the slimmest folding phone (which isn’t necessarily the marker of how good the device is), Honor’s new V5 is 4.1mm.

Also in Quandt’s big leak are the main specs for the Z Flip 7, accompanied by a render of the phone that looks to gain a bigger outer display. The Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 6 had smaller cover screens compared to Motorola’s Razr folding phones – Samsung could be about to match it.

In a surprise addition, the leaked spec sheet also shows the apparent existence of a Galaxy Flip 7 FE (interestingly with no ‘Z’ in the product name). This would very likely be a cheaper flip style folding phone, akin to Samsung’s cheaper FE line up for its Galaxy S series of phones.

Rounding up the extra information, the Z Fold 7 is said to have a 200MP camera, which might be the same one found on the S25 Ultra – either way, an upgrade on the Z Fold 6’s 50MP main shooter. Unfolded, the inner screen is said to be larger too at eight inches.
