Nintendo Confirms a Parnter Showcase Nintendo Direct for Tomorrow

Published on:

After rumours appeared last week pointing to a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase happening this week, specifically on Thursday, February 5, 2026, we now know those rumours and reports were correct. Confirmed first through the Nintendo Today! mobile app, Nintendo will host a Partner Showcase Direct event tomorrow, February 5, at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BT.

This will be the third Nintendo Direct event of 2026 so far, after the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct and a Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Direct last month. It’s also the first Partner Showcase event Nintendo has hosted since July 2025.

Following the initial confirmation in the Nintendo Today! mobile app, a post from the official X (formerly Twitter) Nintendo of America account confirmed that the showcase event will be about 30 minutes long, and that it will feature upcoming titles coming to both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Since this is a ‘Partner Showcase’ direct, we know that we shouldn’t expect any news regarding first-party Nintendo titles. These events are always about what third-party publishers and developers are bringing to Nintendo’s platform.

Which is why we can turn our focus instead to potentially getting another look at games like The Duskbloods or Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. When covering the rumours that pointed to a direct event this week, we theorized that this Partner Showcase could also be where we finally heard more about the Borderlands 4 port for Nintendo Switch 2. But after Take-Two confirmed that development on the Switch 2 version of the game had been put on “pause following its last-minute indefinite delay last year, that now seems highly unlikely.

There’s still plenty of other ports and upcoming third-party games to look forward to, of course. We could get some footage of 007: First Light running on Switch 2, or this could be the event where we finally see Call of Duty come to the Nintendo Switch platform. And that’s without getting into any of the indie games players are still waiting to hear about, several of which could make an appearance at tomorrow’s event.

We’ll find out what Nintendo and its partners have in store for us tomorrow. Lastly, on a totally separate note, one of the reports that accurately predicted the Partner Showcase came from NateTheHate, who also predicted a State of Play event would take place the week of February 12, 2026, potentially even happening that very day. This isn’t the first time NateTheHate has accurately pointed to a showcase event happening, but it’s just worth remembering. Now that this Nintendo Direct has been confirmed, we’ll likely have another event to look forward to next week.
