Halo Campaign Evolved, the Unreal Engine 5-powered remake of the first entry in the series, is launching on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on July 28, according to reliable leaker grunt.api, with an early access period coming a few days earlier.

The known leaker, who has been providing accurate information during Halo Infinite‘s cycle by looking through backend files, revealed the release date and the Early Access period starting from July 23 with a cryptic message on X: “EA: (18 × 7 × (MMXX + VI) mod 31) + 1 – OR: (8 × 7 × (MMXX + VI) mod 31) + 1.” As it always is in cases like this, it didn’t take too long for the community to work out the release dates.

With Halo Campaign Evolved launching in July, there’s no doubt that more will finally be shown of the game in the coming weeks, with possibly a bigger showcase during this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, which will air on June 7. The event will be followed by a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day showcase, putting one of Xbox’s most anticipated 2026 releases under the spotlight.

Halo Campaign Evolved represents a hallmark release for the franchise, as it will mark the debut of the series that has been most associated with the Xbox brand on a PlayStation system. On the other hand, many longtime fans of the series remain disappointed by Halo Studios’ decision not to remake the original’s multiplayer features.

Hopefully, this decision has been made to allow the studio to focus on the creation of a next-gen Halo multiplayer experience that will truly bring the community together.
