If you love Freeview and want access to the very latest channels then you’d be wise to check your TV guide. Earlier this week, ITV switched things up with the launch of a new service called ITV Quiz. As the name suggests, this platform offers back-to-back access to programmes such as Tipping Point, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal, Lino and Tenable.
It’s been launched to replace ITVBe with reality shows that were being aired on that channel, moving to other ITV stations instead.
ITV Quiz can be found on Ch 28 but some Freeview users may find they need to retune their screens to get access.
“On 9th June 2025 ITV will be making some changes to ITVBe,” Freeview explained.
“You will need to retune to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up to date.”
Once things have been re-tuned, you’ll be able to enjoy all those bonus quiz shows.
This isn’t the first time this year that Freeview has made some changes to its planner. The popular free-to-view platform often updates things with channels added, positions swapping on the guide and some services closing.
“Channels are constantly evolving on Freeview with individual channels making the decision to move, add or remove channels. Freeview continues to ensure that audiences can enjoy a rich and varied content “
This is why it’s a good idea to perform that retune, and you can find out how to do it below.
HOW TO RETUNE YOUR FREEVIEW TV
Freeview has issued advice on how to retune devices, and here are the steps every user needs to follow.
• Press menu on your box or TV remote control
• Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’ or a similar option. If you’re asked for a password, the default code is ‘1234’ or ‘0000’.
• Select ‘first-time installation’ (sometimes called ‘factory reset’, ‘full retune’ or ‘default settings’).
•Press ‘OK’ if your equipment asks if it’s OK to delete existing channels and then your retune should start automatically. If you’re prompted to, save the channels that are found.
