CAPCOM Sharpens PRAGMATA on PS5 Pro With Official PSSR 2 Support After Hitting 1 Million Sales in 48 Hour

Published on:

Not content with selling more than 1 million units in just 48 hours, which is an excellent result for a brand new IP, CAPCOM has already improved PRAGMATA with a new PlayStation 5 Pro patch. This patch introduces official PSSR support (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) for a noticeably sharper image quality.

Patch 1.210, which has gone live today, “adds official support for the upgraded PSSR,” the publisher confirmed on the game’s official X profile. While some users noted that the game already used the system-wide toggle to enable the tech at launch, this official support brings significant optimizations. According to CAPCOM, the update specifically improves image clarity and visual stability during intense combat sequences.

Even without this welcome improvement or the gorgeous path tracing only available on PC, PRAGMATA would have been a game worth experiencing. This is mostly thanks to its unique combat mechanics that mix third-person shooting with puzzle-solving. The game’s relative simplicity is also one of its strengths that offsets its thin narrative, as Alessio Palumbo wrote in his review:

CAPCOM’s new PRAGMATA IP feels like a return to old-school design: extreme linearity, no unnecessary bells and whistles, and a narrative barely worthy of such a name. There’s beauty in such simplicity, and the game’s main quirk, the real-time hacking mechanics, provides a fun, yet original combat experience. However, it doesn’t go much deeper than that in any regard, ultimately satisfying the player without leaving any lasting memories.
