Nintendo hosted its first Indie World Showcase of 2026 and the fourth Nintendo Direct event of the year this morning, with an 18-minute presentation chock-full of indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
While the showcase lacked some of the heavy-hitter reveals we guessed at after Nintendo announced the showcase yesterday, like the release date reveal for Hollow Knight Silksong: Sea of Sorrows DLC or a Vampire Crawlers release date, it wasn’t without its big indie announcements.
One of the most notable announcements (and the one that closed out the show) was the reveal that Blue Prince is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, and it wasn’t the only Switch 2 shadow drop included in the showcase. Rotwood, a new side-scrolling co-op brawler from Klei Entertainment that has been in early access on PC since April 2024 also shadow dropped on Switch 2 today. It’ll also be exiting early access on PC with this launch.
Other notable announcements from today’s showcase include the release date for Ratatan, the spiritual successor to the beloved PlayStation title, Patapon, which initially arrived in early access on PC in September 2025. It’ll exit early access and arrive on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC this coming July 16, 2026.
Mixtape, the upcoming narrative-driven adventure game from publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Beethoven & Dinosaur, and a game that made Wccftech’s list of honourable mentions for our Most Anticipated Indie Games of 2026 revealed a May 7, 2026, release date for its arrival on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
And two games that we highlighted as games with Steam Next Fest demos worth checking out, Outbound and Denshattack! also got release dates. Outbound will arrive on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S this coming April 23, 2026, while Denshattack! will hit the rails on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC on June 17, 2026.
The Midnight Walk will make its Nintendo Switch 2 arrival later this month on March 26, 2026, and lastly, the developers behind classic indie hits like Guacamelee! and Nobody Saves the World, Toronto-based Drinkbox Studios, showed off its next title, Blighted, which is due to arrive on Switch 2 sometime in Fall 2026.
