Atomic Heart Has Reached 10 Million Players

Mundfish has announced that its first-person shooter game, Atomic Heart, has reached 10 million players since its debut in February 2023. It’s worth remembering that the game launched on Game Pass, which certainly boosted its reach.

Robert Bagratuni, CEO and founder of Mundfish, Game Director of Atomic Heart, stated:

What started as a dream has become a reality beyond anything we imagined. Thanks to our team’s relentless dedication, bold vision, and unwavering focus on quality, we’ve achieved something truly special. We’re incredibly grateful to our players for their passion and support – it’s their enthusiasm that brought Atomic Heart to life.

Atomic Heart was well received by gamers and critics. In my review for Wccftech, I rated the game 7.5 out of 10:

Atomic Heart is a solid debut for a brand-new developer. Mundfish succeeded in following the example of BioShock to deliver an engaging first-person shooter that is fun to play (minus a few quirks), runs extremely well, and looks great. That said, the story is a letdown and should have been fleshed out more, just like the side content.

Since launch, the game has received three premium DLCs: Annihilation Instinct, Trapped in Limbo, and Enchantment Under the Sea. A fourth and final DLC is still in production but still has no release date.

The new Atomic Heart player milestone was not the only announcement Mundfish shared today. The studio has also launched Mundfish Powerhouse, a creative label founded to support fellow developers in bringing interesting games to the market.

Robert Bagratuni said:

For quite some time, studios and investors have been approaching us seeking support. We’ve decided to make this direction official. Powerhouse will only partner with projects where we see great potential to make noise. Not just a handful of indie hits, but big and bold games that can set a new standard for quality and creative risk.
