Lost Soul Aside Gets Delayed to August 29

    Published on:

The long-awaited single player action/adventure roleplaying game Lost Soul Aside has been delayed from its previous May 30 launch date to August 29. The news came in this morning from game creator Yang Bing, who shared the following statement with the community:

Dear fans, we are truly grateful for the positive response we’ve received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside. We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game.

We’ve been covering this game for over seven years, and its development originally began in 2014. However, considering that it started as a one-man project (and it is still nowhere near as large as most games that look like it), cutting Yang Bing some slack is entirely appropriate. After all, it looks like we might be getting a great game. What’s a few more months of waiting? Besides, it was coming out on the same day as Elden Ring: Nightreign, which probably wasn’t a great idea in the first place.

In the game, just as protagonist Kaser and his group of resistance fighters prepare to disrupt the oppressive Emperor’s birthday celebrations to ignite a rebellion, the world is suddenly invaded by mysterious beings called Voidrax who are intent on destroying other species and draining their souls of energy. Upon arrival, they take the soul of Louisa, Kaser’s sister. Players will have to rescue her with the help of a companion called Arena, a dragon-like creature that can transform into various weapons. The action gameplay has been inspired by classics like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, and Bayonetta, although Lost Soul Aside adds extensive character progression and weapon customization.

Sony will publish the game (it was initially funded as part of PlayStation’s China Hero Project) simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC. On the latter platform, Lost Soul Aside will support NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and advanced ray tracing features. In a recent video, NVIDIA demonstrated its flagship GPU, the GeForce RTX 5090, running the game at over 500 frames per second. The full detailed PC system requirements were shared a couple of months ago by Ultizero Games; you can find them on this page.
