My Talking Tom developers Go "All In" with Three New Releases and Brand Evolution in 2025

Outfit7, the developers behind the supremely popular My Talking Tom franchise, isn’t paw-sing production anytime soon. 2025 marks the 15th anniversary of this studio, and as many years of its virtual pet games. Today, the studio is announcing a roadmap for the rest of this year, which includes not one, but three new mobile entries.

Outfit7 is looking to excite long-term fans and attract a brand new generation with its 2025 projects. Firstly, My Talking Tom Friends 2 will hit the app stores this July, and will feature a refreshed set of character designs along with new character writing. Long-term fans will also be excited to know that the original Talking Tom is being fully reimagined later this year, bringing the titular character’s new look and enhanced features to the existing game.

In a new turn, Outfit7 is also launching its first-ever mobile game specifically designed for kids this August. Talking Tom & Friends: World will be the franchise’s first ad-free title built around an in-app purchase model.

‘’While the entire industry is talking about challenges, obstacles, and how hard things are, we’re going our own way, the Outfit7 way!” said Jernej Česen, COO at Outfit7. The Talking Tom franchise has seen over 25 billion downloads globally in the last 15 years, with its first 42 million coming in its first year.

On the move to attract a younger audience, the COO said, “We wanted to dedicate a segment of the Talking Tom & Friends universe to kids,” explains Česen. “We believe users deserve fresh, high-quality experiences that span generations—and we want to be there from the very beginning, offering safe, fun, meaningful gameplay.”

In the current remaster and remake climate within the games industry, Outfit7 seems keen to ensure that the updates it’s making to the franchise won’t just be small tweaks. New character designs, updated visuals, deeper storylines, and newly realised voices will all go a long way 15 years into the IP’s life.
