Brand new nDreams VR title gets honored introduction and "groundbreaking" endorsement from Shuhei Yoshida himself

nDreams just revealed its next VR title, Reach, at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase.

Reach is an action-adventure game launching later this year on Meta Quest, PSVR 2, and PC VR and it comes with an endorsement from Shuhei Yoshia himself, former PlayStation boss.

“I have been a huge fan of the work of nDreams. Synapse is my favorite VR game of all time and I’m honored to present this new groundbreaking title from the team,” says Yoshida.

Dubbed the developer’s most ambitious title to date, Reach sees you thrown into a journey to uncover the secrets of an underground civilization. You’re a reluctant hero, apparently, but that isn’t going to stop you from becoming a badass with the fluid combat in this game.

Reach sounds pretty amazing, with full body awareness and 1:1 actions for everything you do in the game. You’ll be fighting mythical threats, mastering a variety of tools including a grapple hook, bow, pistols, Captain America-esque shield, and a shotgun.

I’m getting serious Mirror’s Edge vibes from the launch trailer, but with a lot more ancient mythology and really long drops.

nDreams states that “every action directly impacts the adventure”, so I’m really intrigued to see how that all plays out later this year.

“We set out to create an action-adventure where players feel present, powerful, and fully in control of every action,” said Glenn Brace, head of studio at nDreams Elevation. “Our studio ethos has always been to push VR gameplay forward through rich physical engagement and cinematic gameplay, and Reach is the sum of those efforts. We can’t wait for players to experience it for themselves.”

Reach is coming to Meta Quest 3, Steam VR, and PSVR 2 later this year, and you can wishlist it on the Meta Store, PlayStation Store and Steam now.
